Chyvarhas Care Home in Callington, Cornwall

Situated between the rustic beauty spots of Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor, and just over half an hour from Plymouth, Chyvarhas has a real sense of home for our residents. 

Cosy lounges provide comfortable areas where residents can socialise or unwind. The lounges offer views over the gardens, with double doors leading to a secure, sensory garden, with wheelchair-accessible pathways and outdoor seating.

Each day we gather together to eat freshly made nutritious and delicious meals, prepared from scratch by our in-house chef. We make sure everyone can enjoy mealtimes by ensuring all special dietary requirements are catered for.

Our home also benefits from being on a main bus route, so we’re easily accessible to visitors. And residents are always free to make their own plans for the day.

Here, at Chyvarhas, we provide personalised care. We take the time to get to know our residents individually, which helps us to develop a comprehensive care plan, where we set out how we'll support them and what we'll do to achieve this.

Our care home in Callington also offers respite care, where residents can join us to receive the support they need on a short-term basis - as they recover from illness, or while their primary caregiver is away.

At Chyvarhas, we are committed to enhancing quality of life for our residents through enriching activities. These include:

Whilst we provide a full activities programme at Chyvarhas, it really is up to our residents how they wish to spend their time. Whether that’s sitting down with a good book or enjoying painting in their room – just like our wonderful resident Pamela.

At Sanctuary Care, we’re proudly for people, not for profit. Any surplus income we have goes straight back into our homes, staff and residents.

We know just how important consistency is in care. We're proud to have a fantastic team of qualified nurses and carers at our Callington care home - some of whom have been with us for more than 10 years!

It is common for residents in care homes to contribute to the cost of their care home fees. Some people have the resources to pay for this in full, whilst others make means-tested contributions.

Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents due to the difference in care requirements and are subject to a pre-admissions assessment.
