Our care home in Wadebridge
St Breock care home has established an excellent reputation throughout the town. It features 37 bedrooms – 12 of which have a toilet and sink. Some of these rooms offer lovely views, looking out over Bridge View, Wadebridge and all its pretty buildings.
We strive to make St Breock feel like a home from home. That’s why we encourage residents to decorate their rooms with precious keepsakes and reminders of those most special to them. The bedrooms are there to provide a private and comfortable place for reflection and relaxation.
At the heart of our care home in Wadebridge, we have the dining room. It’s a large space where we all gather to tuck into delicious home-cooked meals while catching-up over the day’s events. We also have a large conservatory – this is where our activities take place.
For those with a passion for music, the home has a dedicated music room complete with a piano. We have a small lounge with a TV and a hairdressing room too. Wi-Fi is available throughout the home, so residents can stay connected.
We love to make the most of those Cornish summer days too. Our small garden features a deck with parasols – a favourite spot for residents to catch up with visiting loved ones when the sun is shining.
Person-centred care in Wadebridge
Here, at Sanctuary Care, the wellbeing of our residents are at the heart of everything we do. Our experienced care team at St Breock looks beyond the person’s condition, treating them as an individual rather than just their illness.
When a resident first joins us, the first thing we do is create a comprehensive care plan with them. It’s here we outline the care we aim to deliver and exactly how we’ll do this. We work closely with our residents to ensure this care plan evolves with their requirements.
Our highly trained carers have experience in supporting elderly people affected by a variety of different health conditions, including different forms of dementia. They’re on hand 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide care with day to day living whenever it’s needed.
Looking for short or long-term temporary care? Our respite service is designed to allow carers to take a break from their duties to relax and recharge – all while safe in the knowledge, their loved one is continuing to receive a high standard of care.
Daily life at St Breock care home
At St Breock, we’re always busy. Individuality and activity are important to us – because life as it was doesn’t end when you or a loved one move into a care home. Our residents enjoy a variety of activities.
From clubs dedicated to arts, gardening and cookery, animal therapy visits, quiz afternoons, hairdressing sessions, church services and lots more – our days are always filled with plenty to keep us busy.
The team encourages residents to continue to keep up the hobbies they had before becoming residents with us. And while there’s always something to get involved in around the home, they’re always free to make their own plans.
Our compassionate care team
As a not-for-profit care organisation, we reinvest any surplus income back into the elements that matter most to us – our residents, our care homes, and our staff.
We understand how important it is to support our team in understanding the illnesses of those they care for. We make sure they receive the right skills and training.
Our closely knit team at St Breock has huge passion for the people it cares for, enriching lives, building lasting friendships and enjoying many special moments over the years. This is exemplified by our Home Manager, Pauline has been with us for 15 years, working her way up from her role as a carer.
