Our Liskeard care home
Pengover care home is built to provide a comfortable environment for the people we care for. The first thing you’ll see when visiting our lovely home is the large, safe and much-loved garden – designed by our residents.
The gardens are wheelchair friendly, with level lawns and pathways that are easily accessible for our residents. Patio seating areas and benches provide the perfect spots for peaceful moments. As part of our ‘Grow Your Own Way’ initiative, we also grow our own grapes, runner beans, tomatoes and corn.
Within the home, we have two adjoining lounges, which feature Wi-Fi access and patio doors overlooking the gardens. Here, our residents can catch up with loved ones, socialise and make plans for the day ahead. We also have a dining room where we enjoy delicious and hearty home-cooked food together.

Penberthy feels just like home, with welcoming bedrooms ready for residents to decorate and make their own, as well as cosy communal areas where they can socialise and enjoy each other’s company.
Our top-floor, front-facing bedrooms overlook the sea, providing a wonderful view. We also have a tranquil garden with a lovely patio area, a raised flower bed and outdoor seating. It’s wheelchair accessible too. Our residents adore this space – particularly in the summer months.
We take great pride in our Newquay care home’s relaxed and family-orientated atmosphere. The loved ones of our residents are always welcome. You can often find these special visitors enjoying the outdoor seating area or a nice cuppa in our lounges.
Our care - more than just personal care
Everything we do is shaped by our wonderful residents – from our person-centred care plans to our tailored activities programmes and menus shaped by likes and dislikes. No two days in our home are the same.
One day we may be enjoying the entertainers who come to perform for us on a monthly basis to relaxing pampering sessions, where our residents can enjoy manicures.
The next day we could be having a sing-song on our Zoom-based Forget-Me-Not-Choir, or having a good-natured-but-competitive board game afternoon.
We also have connections with the local community – with schoolchildren regularly visiting us and local clubs joining to play games. It helps to foster a sense of involvement in the local area.

Pricing information
It is usual for residents in care homes to contribute to the cost of their own care. Some people have the resources to pay for this in full, whilst others make means-tested contributions.
Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2024 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1,484, but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.
*If you require more specialist care such as 1-2-1 support, your weekly fee could be higher.
