Here, at Sanctuary Care, we currently have three care homes in Merseyside offering a blend of residential, respite, dementia, nursing and palliative care for elderly people.
Our homes are spread across the area, with Prince Alfred situated in the Wavertree district of Liverpool, Ridgewood Court in the large village of Pensby, and Willow Gardens in Bootle.
Taking its name from the River Mersey, Merseyside is a vibrant county. Its biggest city, Liverpool, is renowned for its culture - with more galleries and museums than any other city outside of London, and, of course, as the home of The Beatles and many other musical greats. There are also popular towns in the region, such as Birkenhead, St Helens and Southport - much loved for its seaside views.
However, the area isn't all urbanised hustle and bustle. Pensby's leafy suburban streets offer a relaxing contrast, while West Kirkby's traditional Tudor buildings and lovely waterfront scenery provide plenty of spots for a moment of tranquillity.

The personal care provided by our professional teams is always tailored to the individual. It can include support with anything from getting out of bed or dressing for the day to assistance with bathing or support with a catheter or stoma.
Our residents' independence is important to us - we encourage them to continue doing the things they've always loved, and they're always free to make their own plans for the day.
We like to ensure that no two days are ever the same. So, we're always organising activities to enrich the lives of our residents and keep them engaged - from pamper sessions and afternoon tea within the homes to excursions out to Merseyside's best sites.
Ridgewood Court in Pensby provides person-centric dementia care in Merseyside. We support senior residents living with many forms of dementia and age-related memory loss, including Alzheimer's. Rather than care for the condition, we support the individual. Our devoted team work to understand people, their life experiences, their personalities, the activities they enjoy and their medical requirements. Having this better understanding allows us to truly enrich our residents' lives with a tailored plan.
We work closely with the families of our residents too. Here, at Sanctuary, we understand dementia can result in lots of changes. The team at our dementia care home in Merseyside is there to help families really understand the condition their loved one is living with. We're here to support you, every step of the way.
From the start, we undertake advanced care planning, which is designed to ensure our residents are supported with pain management, anxiety and emotions they may have about their condition and their preferences for the future.
The team is experienced in supporting people with illnesses such as advanced cancer and dementia, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), motor neurone disease (MND), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and more.
Are you a caregiver looking to take a short break from caring for a loved one? Our homes offer respite care in Merseyside that's designed to ensure temporary support is in place while the regular carer takes some time away from their duties.
We extend a warm welcome to temporary residents staying at all of our homes. During a typical stay, they'll be able to sample life with Sanctuary - getting the opportunity to friendships with like-minded residents and sample our wonderful facilities.
Importantly they'll also be able to receive the consistent level of care they'd usually receive from their regular carer. So, both carers and those they support can rest, safe in the knowledge, that tailored support is there, whenever it's needed.
