Our Carbis Bay care home
Trewartha was designed for the comfort of our residents. We have 36 bright, spacious bedrooms, lovely big reception areas, and a large conservatory that overlooks the inner garden.
We encourage our residents to give their bedrooms a personal touch – by decorating them with reminders of loved ones and cherished memories. It’s important to us for our residents to feel comfortable.
Our communal spaces feature airy lounges with Wi-Fi access. The big lounge is used for activities, while the smaller lounges are intimate spaces where residents can catch up with visiting loved ones, and each other.
The home has its own hairdressing salon. With our barber and hairdresser visiting once a week, residents can always get a cut or trim and look their very best.
Everyone loves mealtimes at Trewartha. We gather for home-cooked meals, from a menu of nutritious classics, in our dining rooms. They provide a great opportunity to reflect on the day over delicious food.
There’s lots of outdoor space at our care home in Carbis Bay too. We have two secure gardens and a summer house, which provides the perfect spot to enjoy the fresh sea air on those warm, sunny days.
Compassionate care for individuals
Here at Sanctuary, we recognise that everyone’s care needs are different. We support people as individuals by getting to know them, their needs, and their loved ones. This helps us to create a comprehensive care package. It’s the first thing we do when a resident joins us at our Carbis Bay care home.
Our person-centric care plans are continually assessed, and they can evolve. The care team at Trewartha is committed to providing the best possible support.
We want our residents to feel safe in the knowledge whether they’re living with dementia, have a nursing care need or simply need help with day-to-day personal care, there’s always someone on hand to support them.
Excitement and activity at Trewartha
Individuality and activity are important to us, at Trewartha. Our activities team keep our residents active and involved through a whole host of engaging events.
These events include animal therapy (tea with ponies and birds of paradise being big favourites), dementia choir, yoga and chair exercise sessions, arts and crafts sessions, seasonal fêtes and more.
We like to get out and about in the local area too. Once a month, we’ll go out to a carvery restaurant. And our residents are free to make their own plans – whether a trip to the beach or an excursion to nearby St Ives.
Our staff
At Cornwall Care, we ensure our staff are supported. We know how important it is to understand our residents and their illnesses, so we ensure all our staff have the latest care and ethics training.
We know how important it is to understand our residents and their illnesses, particularly those with different types of dementia, which can often be misunderstood, so we make sure that all our staff are trained in dementia care and ethics.
We are nationally recommended and awarded for training and career development. Our team aims to provide loving support for all our residents, promoting awareness, safety and, most importantly, individuality.
Pricing information
Pricing information
It is usual for residents in care homes to contribute to the cost of their own care. Some people have the resources to pay for this in full, whilst others make means-tested contributions.
Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2024 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1,468 and for nursing care £1,692, but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.
*If you require more specialist care such as 1-2-1 support, your weekly fee could be higher.
