Our Brandon care home's wonderful facilities
We’re a care home in the Durham area, situated right at the heart of Brandon. You’ll find us on Brandon Lane, which can be reached by car in less than 10 minutes along the A690.
When you arrive, you’ll find we have all the facilities our residents need to thrive, including:
- 41 light and airy bedrooms with en-suite bathroom facilities - we encourage our residents to personalise these spaces.
- cosy lounges – where residents socialise, make plans for the day and enjoy competitive (but friendly) games. Like to read? There’s always a quiet spot to get lost in a good book!
- our lovely dining room – we gather here to enjoy fresh home-cooked meals prepared our chef. They’re a daily highlight, and we almost always clear our plates!
Living life to the full at our care home in Brandon
No day is ever the same at Rushyfields care home. Our residents' social lives are always jam-packed with activities to get involved in, including:
• gentle exercise sessions and arts and crafts projects
• performances from entertainers from across Country Durham
• trips to areas across County Durham and South Sheilds - from local garden centres to the seaside
For our residents receiving nursing care, we provide more intimate one-to-one activities. These include pampering sessions in the comfort of our hairdressing salon and Namaste hand massages. We make sure everyone in the home can get involved.
We also empower our residents to remain active members of the local community. The home is close to all the village's shops, the church and the community centre. Our staff looks to reignite a passion for hobbies and pastimes.
In our most recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) care home report, we were praised for the activities and the lifestyle we promote for our residents. This is so important to us. We strongly believe that our residents should spend their time as they choose.
Inspectors were quoted in the report: “People were actively engaged in a range of activities and had opportunities to access the wider community”.
