What are the gardens like at Shaftesbury Court?

Our landscaped gardens are absolutely glorious, with so much space to explore. With harbour-style seating and raised beds, they are ideal for our residents who are in wheelchairs or have greater physical disabilities. The grounds are surrounded by wheelchair-friendly pathways and are the perfect place to enjoy summer barbecues and relaxing with family and friends.

Engaging activities

Many of our residents enjoy baking, arts and painting, and pampering sessions in the salon. We also have a mobile hairdresser who visits Shaftesbury Court and other care homes in Kent for regular appointments.

We support residents with hobbies they have always loved and inspire them to try new experiences, as well as getting out about. Our residents have enjoyed taking part in activities with local schoolchildren, animal therapy, or indulging in a hand massage in the salon. Some of the residents enjoyed going to the Diamond Jubilee Club and a monthly film club in Slade Green.

Pre-bookable respite care at Shaftesbury Court

As well as providing residential care at our care home in Erith, we offer planned respite or relief care, which can be short stay breaks or long term stays. These are ideal for people caring for an elderly relative who need some time to rest themselves, with the peace of mind of knowing their loved one is in safe hands.

They are also ideal if you are in your senior years and considering transitioning into care, but would like a flavour of what to expect from care home life. Pricing information

It is usual for residents in care homes to contribute to the cost of their own care. Some people have the resources to pay for their care in full, whilst others make means-tested contributions. Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to truly understand the level of care and support needed.

Our 2024 weekly care fees for residential care at Shaftesbury Care Home start from £1,339 but may be in the region of 20% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms to our premium bedroom options.
