Riverlee Residential and Nursing Home, Greenwich
Riverlee Care Home has a devoted care team who are passionate about enriching the lives of our residents. Our Greenwich nursing home provides residential care, dementia, nursing, palliative and end of life care. The wide range of care we provide means that we can continue to support our residents if their care needs change.
We also offer respite and short-term care breaks. This gives carers the chance to take a break ,with peace of mind that their loved one is safe.
At Riverlee, we have all the comforts you’d expect, with comfortable lounge and dining areas, where our residents enjoy nutritious home-cooked meals.
There’s a hairdressing salon for a spot of pampering and an activities room. This is a real focal point and acts as a hub for our residents to enjoy social interaction. It’s where we host our group activities, bringing everyone together in a social setting. We even have our own karaoke machine, so the room is often filled with laughter and singing.
From quizzes, bingo and painting to baking and performances from live entertainers, who visit Riverlee and other care homes in Bexleyheath, there is always something going on.
For our residents with nursing needs, we can provide one to one activities in the comfort of their own bedrooms. This includes hand massages, reading their favourite book or reminiscing with photos. When we host animal therapy sessions, these can always be brought to a resident’s bedside.
Community engagement at Riverlee Care Home
We pride ourselves on supporting and empowering our residents to be part of their local community. Before they moved into our nursing home, they may have felt socially isolated. We support them to have active social lives and enjoy new and exciting experiences with their fellow residents, family and friends. We also host many community events like summer fetes and barbecues.
At Riverlee we have a fantastic group of Sanctuary Care volunteers, who dedicate their spare time to the home. And there are visits from school children across Greenwich to look forward to. Spending time with the younger generation is something that is so beneficial for many of our residents’ well-being.
There is plenty going on outside the nursing home in Greenwich that our residents like to explore - in Greater London and wider South East region, with museums, garden centres and Greenwich Park.
In the warmer months, we go further afield, enjoying an ice-cream at the seaside.
Pre-bookable respite care in Greenwich, Bexleyheath
We also offer respite care breaks which can be booked in advance.
We can provide these care breaks for people who need residential, nursing or palliative care.
Within walking distance of Elverson Road Station (DLR) station and near several bus stops, the nursing home is easily accessible for our residents’ family and friends, while still being tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Greater London life.
Pricing information
It is usual for residents in care homes to contribute to the cost of their own care. Some people have the resources to pay for this in full, whilst others make means-tested contributions.
Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2024 weekly care fees for residential care at our care home Greenwich start from £1,266 and for nursing care £1,533, but may be in the region of 30% more*.
This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.
*If you require more specialist care such as 1-2-1 support, your weekly fee could be higher.
