Ivydene Care Home is one of our two care homes in Plymouth, nestled in the pretty town of Ivybridge in South Hams.
Proud to be part of a not-for-profit organisation, our devoted team provide residential, nursing, dementia, palliative and respite care, so if your needs change over time, we are here.

Our dedicated team at Ivydene nursing home
At Ivydene Nursing Home, many of our team have been here for years, many over a decade and more, which makes Ivydene feel like a warm, welcoming home with staff who treat our residents like family.
Kelsey (read more below) has been with us for over 12 years and champions engaging and person-centred activities, with some exciting trips planned for the future.
Our residents enjoy a range of activities, including:
- arts and crafts
- games nights
- coffee mornings
- pamper sessions in our hairdressing salon
The team are passionate about finding out who our residents are as individuals, their life histories and their passions, so we can enrich their lives with truly person-centred care. Like Terry, a retired police officer (read more below), who has lived a fascinating life!
Respite care at our care home in Devon
As well as providing residential, nursing, dementia and palliative care, we also offer respite care breaks. It is essential for caregivers of elderly relatives to take a break. At Ivydene, we provide short-term and long-term respite care breaks to make this possible.
These can be pre-booked in advance, so you can take a holiday knowing your loved one is in safe hands and even enjoying a change of scenery too!
We can support with respite care breaks for people living with dementia, those with nursing and palliative care needs, as well as residential respite.

Price information
It is usual for residents in care homes to contribute to the cost of their care. Some people have the resources to pay for this in full, whilst others make means-tested contributions.
Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed.
