Mum loved her respite stay at Park View so much, she’s booked to go back!

When Kate booked a short respite break for her mum Jennifer, so she could enjoy a much-needed holiday, Jennifer liked it so much she felt like she’d had a holiday too!

Jennifer lives in an annex next to Kate and husband Paul’s home and likes to retain as much independence as possible, catching the bus and using her mobility scooter to get about.

After having a two-week respite care break at Park View Residential Care Home, our care home in Sheffield, Kate said Jennifer has already booked to go back later in the year.

“She absolutely loved it and the staff were amazing – it was really a bespoke service,” says Kate. “She had a room with a patio door and said it was a holiday for her too – she really wants to go back!

“The staff made her feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. When I rang she would tell me how lovely they were, they looked after mum really well and she couldn’t stop talking about the staff.”

Because of this Kate and Paul could truly enjoy their holiday without any concerns.

“I felt so relaxed on holiday because I knew that she was happy and settled there,” adds Kate.

As well as the home being “spotlessly clean”, Jennifer really enjoyed the home-cooked food and how staff always had time to spend with her. And she loved that fact that her grandchildren and friends could pop in whenever they wanted to.
