Shining bright for dementia fundraiser
Armed with glow sticks and glitter galore, the team at a Sanctuary Care home in Pensby will don their brightest togs for a very special fundraising challenge.
Inspired by their roles at Ridgewood Court Residential Care Home, eight members of the team have been limbering up for the Alzheimer’s Society Glow Walk in Liverpool – a night time 5km challenge.
Receptionist Anna Kinseley, said: “So many of our amazing residents live with dementia and we are proud to care for them and enrich their lives.
“We also wanted to give something back to a charity which supports people affected by dementia outside our care home within the community, so as soon as we saw the Glow Walk we signed up!”
Meanwhile activities co-ordinator Amy Irwin-Steens added: “We are all so excited about the Glow Walk as the Alzheimer’s Society is a charity which is so close to all hearts here at Ridgewood Court.”
The event will start at 8pm on Saturday 11 March and the money raised will be used by the charity to fund vital dementia diagnosis, research, treatment and care.
If anyone would like to sponsor the team, please drop into the reception at Ridgewood Court, in Ridgewood Drive, or call the home direct on 0800 140 4963.
