Residents and the team at Briggs Lodge celebrate ‘Good’ CQC rating
The team and residents at Briggs Lodge, our nursing home in Devizes, are celebrating receiving a ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Highlights in the healthcare watchdog’s report, following an unannounced inspection, included glowing comments from residents and their loved ones about the quality of the care, how well they are supported and how well managed the home is.
Comments include: "I have had brilliant support since coming here and would recommend it", "this home tops the lot” and “I am very happy with everything".
Following the report, our home manager Alison Wetherall said: “We are incredibly proud of our rating, which is testament to our fantastic team at Briggs Lodge, who do everything they can to enrich the lives of our residents and their loved ones.”
Other highlights from the report reveal how well the team involve the relatives in life at Briggs Lodge, treating them with such kindness and care. Comments include: "The staff do look after me well and they look after my relative as well when they come to visit" and "the staff are lovely, you can talk to all of them.”
The team were also praised for how they actively encourage residents to be as independent as possible, supporting them to have “maximum choice and control of their lives”.
It revealed how the care was truly personalised, with residents supported to do activities they really enjoy.
Other highlights include comments from the team, reflecting how they genuinely love their jobs, including: “I love spending time with the residents", “I think there is fantastic teamwork” and “it is an amazing place to work, it is an amazing team."
