“An absolutely beautiful environment” – launch of unique respite suite

The team at our care home in Bromsgrove were proud to launch a unique suite in their home, dedicated to providing short stay care breaks.

Chairman of Bromsgrove District Council, Councillor Sam Ammar unveiled the Mulberry Suite at Breme Residential Care Home recently, describing it as an “absolutely beautiful environment” created with “heart and compassion”.

Unlike anywhere locally, the Mulberry suite offers eight-bedrooms dedicated to pre-bookable short stay care breaks, which can be booked up to six months in advance.

Councillor Ammar said how vital it was for local carers to have somewhere their loved ones could enjoy respite care, giving them some much-needed time to themselves.

She described how the team have created “a loving place that people will be very happy to have their mum, dad or grandparent stay in.

“Look at this environment, it’s absolutely beautiful it’s like going on holiday, but not having to get on a flight,” added Councillor Ammar. “Thank you so much for all the passion you have put into this project.”

Breme's home manager Jodie Evans added: “We are incredibly proud to open the Mulberry Suite at Breme, enabling carers in our community to have a break, with the peace of mind of knowing their loved ones will be so well cared for.”

The newly-refurbished accommodation includes spacious bedrooms with level access, non-slip walk-in wet rooms, Smart TVs and garden views.

There are open plan lounge and dining rooms and delicious home-cooked cuisine, prepared by the home’s chef, and landscaped gardens to enjoy.

There is a cosy study to relax in and catch up with friends and family, who are welcome to visit at any time.

Guests can benefit from an active social calendar, with a range of daily activities to match their interests and hobbies. And for those who like to get out and about, there are trips in the minibus.
