“The care, attitude and attention of the staff were exemplary” – John and Sally’s respite break

When John and Sally’s daughters booked a holiday, the couple knew they would worry about how they would cope without their help, so decided to explore respite care options.

Despite living in Nottinghamshire, John had heard about our Heathlands home in Pershore, which has the Allard Suite, a beautiful eight-bed suite dedicated to pre-bookable respite breaks.

Having previously lived in Worcestershire, the couple booked a two-week stay.

John said: “The care, attitude and attention of the staff were exemplary. Nothing was too much trouble. It is very well run, and the staff were absolutely splendid - we were very well looked after.”

Another highlight was the delicious, home-cooked food, prepared by Sanctuary Care’s MasterChef 2022 winner, Ruaan Prins.

John explains: “My wife has a very restricted diet, and the chef was absolutely marvellous. He went out of his way to make sure she had everything she liked – and she was pleased to have someone else do the cooking!

“The respite care rooms were attractive and very comfortable, and the sitting room had a lovely outlook. We would go back very happily.”

And despite being away from their daughters, they still had great company.  

“And we were able to see quite a few friends who came to see us while we were there,” John adds.  

For John and Sally, it was imperative that the respite break was pre-bookable, and they wouldn’t hesitate to book another if needed.

“It was essential that we could book the respite break in advance, because their holidays had been booked.”  

The Allard Suite has eight bedrooms, with Smart TVs and ensuite wet rooms, which can be booked up to six months in advance. There is a welcoming lounge and dining area, as well as a cosy study and private garden.
