Kieren receives prestigious Queen's Nurse Award!
A nurse from Sanctuary Care has been selected for the prestigious Queen’s Nurse Award.
Kieren Logan-Gallen was granted the title, which celebrates esteemed leaders and role models who are exceptional community practitioners, committed to providing the highest standards of person-centred care.
Kieren has been a registered nurse for over 24 years and is now Sanctuary Care's Head of Learning and Talent Development after joining us in 2022.
Kieren was presented with the Queen’s Nurse badge and certificate by Professor Deborah Sturdy, Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care, Department of Health and Social Care at a special awards ceremony.
As Head of Learning and Talent Development, Kieren has a key role in shaping our clinical training pathways, leadership programmes, and advanced clinical skills courses for care practitioners in care homes across England and Scotland.
Commenting on the accolade, he said: “It is an honour to receive the Queen’s Nurse title. I believe that in learning and development we can affect change on a large scale to ensure the delivery of safe and effective care across the adult social care sector, and that care home employees feel valued and supported while carrying out their duties.
“Within my role at Sanctuary Care, I am passionate about ensuring our teams have the knowledge, skills, competence and confidence to deliver the very best care and support for our residents.”
Kieren hopes to further enhance training and development at Sanctuary Care by working with the Director of Quality & Clinical Improvement, Emily O’ Hara, to create a world-class training programme for all staff, ensuring residents receive the very best care possible.
Emily stated: “This recognition speaks volumes about Kieren's dedication to training and development in the adult social care sector. We are delighted to see his expertise and commitment celebrated through this incredible award.”
