Allanbank celebrates Pride with cabaret and karaoke

Residents at our Allanbank Care Home in Dumfries celebrated Pride month with an energetic cabaret show by variety performer, Miss Tiffany Rose.
The residents, their loved ones and staff enjoyed an afternoon of cabaret and karaoke fun in the sun.
The home was adorned with Pride flags and decorated in a kaleidoscope of colours, with the revellers donning hula skirts and rainbow face paint, before taking part in a spirited Pride march and tucking into a delicious barbecue.
The Pride extravaganza was arranged by Nick Barry, the care home’s activities coordinator and talent variety performer, who goes by the stage name, Miss Tiffany Rose.
Nick enjoyed a successful career on the cabaret scene until an injury forced him into early retirement. He discovered his new role as an activities coordinator for Allanbank and has never looked back. Nick has since found a route back to the stage, regularly entertaining residents with cabaret shows, often involving his colleagues and residents.
Commenting on the Pride celebrations, he said: “We are passionate about championing diversity and inclusion in our home and creating a sense of community for our residents, which we know is so important for an enriched and fulfilled life.
“Organising unique experiences to celebrate special occasions such as Pride month is just one example of how we do this.
“Many of our residents absolutely love a sing-along and so it was fantastic see so many smiling faces.”
