In the running for five National Care Awards
We are proud to reveal that Sanctuary Care staff are in the finals of the National Care Awards. One amazing care home team and three individual staff members have been shortlisted for five awards between them.
Bartley Green Lodge Residential Care Home in Birmingham – Care Home of the Year
Over in Birmingham, Kelly Thompson, Home Manager at Bartley Green Lodge said: “The team, residents and their loved ones are so proud that we’ve been shortlisted, it’s such an honour and we can’t wait for the finals!”
Regional Manager (Scotland West) Will McGregor – Care Area Manager of the Year
Speaking of the news Will said: “To be in the finals is a huge achievement and I’m so pleased to be recognised. I’m excited for myself but also for the team, the home managers, chefs, carers and all the team who have played a huge part in getting this recognition, it’s heartwarming.”
Care Assistant Tilu Ngwira – Castlecroft Residential Care Home in Birmingham – Carer of the Year
Tilu said: “I’m so surprised and happy. I didn’t think I would get this far. I love my job and the residents are like my family. I feel this is an acknowledgement for the whole home, the team and residents, not just for myself, and I’m very proud.”
Norman McGlashan – Maintenance Operative at Birch House Care Home in Peterculter – Care Newcomer of the Year and Sara Berrio Care Champion
Shortlisted for two awards, Norman said: “When I heard about my nominations, I was surprised and bemused in equal measure because I feel that I am just doing my job. Working alongside diligent and caring colleagues makes going the extra mile very easy. I’m humbled by this whole experience.”
