Beautiful gardens at our care home in Colne
The enclosed gardens at Peel Gardens are stunning, having had a £20,000 revamp. The sensory garden is filled with aromatic plants like lavender and rosemary, which are so therapeutic for our residents living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
With a water feature, wheelchair friendly pathways and raised beds, this tranquil space is accessible for our residents with greater physical needs.
What is the food like at Peel Gardens?
Mealtimes are something to really look forward to. Residents enjoy wholesome, freshly-cooked meals lovingly prepared by long-serving head chef Stacy. Whether a traditional Lancashire hot pot of something more adventurous, if a resident fancies something that isn’t on the menu, Stacy is happy to oblige. And there are always home-baked treats with afternoon tea.
Life at our care home in Colne
Located in a residential area, Peel Gardens is a stone’s throw from Alkincoats Park, with its Pavillion Café, the Boundary Mill shopping centre and Muni Theatre. So there are plenty of local places for our residents to visit with family and friends. We are also close to the Wallace Hartley Memorial, Colne Train Station and the town centre.
Highlighted in our recent CQC report, our staff work hard to “provide meaningful social activities to provide stimulation and exercise”. Many of our residents enjoy music therapy, spending time in the gardens or relaxing with their family and friends, who are welcome to bring in well-behaved pets. There is also a hairdressing room for appointments with our mobile hairdresser, who visits us and other care homes in Colne.
Are you looking for respite care in Colne?
As well as providing nursing and dementia care, we also offer short-stay respite care breaks. These can be booked in advance, so for example if you are a caregiver looking after an elderly relative at home and need a short break, we are here.
Pricing information
It is usual for residents in care homes to contribute to the cost of their own care. Some people have the resources to pay for this in full, whilst others make means-tested contributions.
Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to understand the level of care and support needed. Our 2024 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1,097 and for nursing care £1,398, but may be in the region of 30% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.
*If you require more specialist care such as 1-2-1 support, your weekly fee could be higher.
