Masline brushes shoulders with royalty!

Sanctuary Cares Head of Clinical Development with King Charles at a Buckingham Palace reception

We were honoured to have Masline Chitura, our Head of Clinical Development, attend a special reception hosted by His Majesty The King at Buckingham Palace recently.

The event recognised the extraordinary contribution made by international nurses and midwives to the UK's health and social care sector.

Masline, a proud nurse for 11 years, was thrilled to represent herself and Sanctuary Care's international nurse colleagues at His Majesty's reception.

She said: “Being invited to the reception at Buckingham Palace by HRH The King was a tremendous honour. It felt surreal as I had never anticipated such an opportunity.

“I proudly represented nurses and carers in social care, on behalf of Sanctuary Care. Despite the brief encounter, I had the opportunity to discuss our sustainability projects with The King and brought attention to the significant 1.6 million workforce in social care, surprising him with the magnitude of the number!”

Like His Majesty, we understand the importance of international nursing teams and are proud of the level of compassion and dedication they bring to our 110 care homes and the healthcare sector.

Thank you to Masline, our teams, King Charles and Professor Deborah Sturdy, Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care, for recognising exceptional nurses nationwide.
