A glowing ‘Good’ for Meadow View

The team at Meadow View Residential Care Home in Hersden, Canterbury, with their Good CQC certificate

Staff and residents at our Meadow View Residential Care Home in Canterbury are celebrating after receiving a glowing Care Quality Commission (CQC) report.

The report described the home, in Hersden, as well-led, safe and effective, praising its “open and positive culture”.

The CQC, which inspects if a health and social care service provides safe, high quality and compassionate care, visited the home to review records and consult with residents, families, and staff.

In its latest report, the inspection team found that our home, which provides residential, dementia and adult respite breaks, offers a nurturing and safe environment for residents.

The CQC commended the “well-equipped”, “supportive space”, as well as the high quality of care provided. The report also highlighted positive feedback from residents and their family members, with one relative commenting:

“The care is second to none. My family member has been cared for in the best possible way in all aspects of her life."

When another person was asked if they felt safe at the home they responded: "The smiling faces around you say it all really!"

The positive report is testament to the home’s commitment to enriching the lives of its residents, families, and staff. Many of the team have worked within Sanctuary Care for years, including home manager Cynthia Boateng, who took up the helm seven months ago after a decade-long career with Sanctuary Care.

Cynthia commented: “We are very proud of the latest CQC report. Our devoted team work hard to maintain our high standards of care, and it’s great to have their dedication formally recognised.

“We often say that our team feel more like a family and I believe this is reflected in the feedback. The report demonstrates how we look above and beyond our residents’ physical and emotional needs to deliver individual care, which ensures that residents feel content, enriched, and fulfilled, day in and day out.”
