The Winsor Nursing Home in Minehead
 

Our care home features many of its original Victorian features, with sash windows, high ceilings, cornicing and oak bannisters. Venture around and you’ll find: 

• 38 single bedrooms with en-suites  - beautifully finished and ready to be personalised.
• Spacious lounges and dining rooms where residents relax, socialise and gather to enjoy delicious home-cooked meals.
• Relaxing salon room – where residents can enjoy pampering afternoons, and a haircut from our visiting hairdresser.
• A sweet shop – our residents can stimulate their memories with a sweet reminder of the past.
• Our peaceful garden, with its raised decking area – it’s wheelchair accessible so everyone can enjoy it. 

We’re proud to say we’re a busy bunch at our nursing home in Minehead. Our activities coordinators love to enrich the lives of our residents.

There’s always a calendar of activities and events for them to get involved with, including:

• Showing off our creative side – whether arts and crafts projects, flower arranging or baking new recipes.
• Growing fruit and vegetables in our garden, which we use in our delicious meals.
• Weekly visits from our much-loved therapy dogs – they make a huge difference in the lives of our residents living with dementia.
• Trips to the beach and seafront – we love an ice cream while enjoying the lovely sea views.
• Visits to attractions such as Blenheim Gardens and further afield in Somerset.
• Personalised activities for our nursing residents – such as animal visits or welcoming guests from the local community. 

As well as permanent care, we also offer a temporary respite care service here, at The Winsor. It’s ideal for caregivers looking to take a short break.

It is common for residents in care homes to contribute to the cost of their care home fees. Some people have the resources to pay for this in full, whilst others make means-tested contributions.

Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents due to the difference in care requirements and are subject to a pre-admissions assessment.
