Sanctuary completes Cornwall Care acquisition
Sanctuary is pleased to confirm it has completed the acquisition of Cornwall Care.
Cornwall Care is Cornwall’s largest older person’s care provider and a not‐for‐profit organisation which owns and manages 15 residential, nursing and dementia care homes as well as helping people to live independently in their own homes.
As part of the acquisition, Sanctuary and Cornwall Council have agreed a long-term Strategic Partnership to enable the two organisations to work closely together to provide high-quality care and support to elderly and vulnerable residents in the county.
A not-for-profit housing and care provider, Sanctuary has been a registered provider and significant developer in Cornwall for over 40 years, managing over 2,000 homes, providing affordable and shared ownership, key worker and student accommodation.
With the acquisition of Cornwall Care, Sanctuary Care now manages 111 care homes across England and Scotland, providing care for more than 5,500 residents. Current CQC ratings in England state that more than 90% of the homes are rated as good or outstanding.
By joining Sanctuary, Cornwall Care residents will continue to receive high-quality care that enriches their lives, as well as benefitting from investment in their homes and services.
This investment will include technology and innovation, and staff will also have wider employment opportunities and greater options for learning, support and personal development.
Craig Moule, Group Chief Executive of Sanctuary, said: “We are very pleased to have completed this acquisition and warmly welcome Cornwall Care’s residents, clients and team members to Sanctuary.
“We are absolutely committed to providing the highest standards of care and to enriching the lives of every single resident in the care homes we are acquiring.
“Our new strategic partnership has been forged to enable us to serve even more people in Cornwall, strengthening our links and continuing our work with Cornwall Council to ensure people in the county get high quality care and support when they most need it.”
Sarah Clarke-Kuehn, Chief Operating Officer – Commercial, added:
“I’d like to warmly welcome Cornwall Care to Sanctuary. In Sanctuary Care we’re absolutely passionate about enriching the lives of the residents in our homes, our team members and the communities in which we operate.
“We are proud to provide the highest standards of care to all our residents and to support them to live fulfilled lives. We’re excited to work with everyone at Cornwall Care to ensure we can enrich the lives of even more residents.”
