When Gerard’s mother Marie moved into our home in Harrow Weald in April, he quickly felt a huge sense of comfort that he’d made the right choice.

“The team provides genuine love and care for mum and we know she is in safe hands,” he says.

Gerard said the staff at Rowanweald Residential and Nursing Home go over and above to meet Marie’s needs.

“They encourage her and don’t give up,” he says. “They take her out so that she is getting exercise and has that interaction.”

Gerard said it is “hugely reassuring” how well they know Marie, who lives with Alzheimer’s and has had a stroke, and her needs.

“I go in every day and they all know mum – they have a really good balance between her clinical and her emotional needs – and they really anticipate her needs,” he says. “They have created an environment that delivers excellent care for the residents.”

For Gerard, he and his family feel very much part of the home.

“The staff are happy to see us and want us there – they know what is happening with mum and I don’t worry or lose any sleep,” he says.  

“We can honestly say that the staff at Rowanweald Residential and Nursing Home truly care for my mum and there’s a huge amount of warmth in this home.”
