Why George loves his new life at Ridgewood Court
When George came to Ridgewood Court for a two-week respite break, little did he know how much he’d enjoy it – and now he’s delighted to have celebrated his second Christmas in his new home!
“I enjoyed it so much that I asked if I could move in after a fortnight – and the rest they say is history,” he says.
“I’m very happy here and I really enjoy myself. The staff are brilliant – they really care and will do anything for you.”
“I think Ridgewood Court is great! The whole team are tremendous and work well together – there’s nothing that hasn’t been thought about here. I’m really lucky to find this place.”
Retired head teacher George previously lived in Warrington, but has family near Pensby, where Ridgewood Court is located, decided to book a respite break after feeling isolated living alone. Now George loves having constant companionship of the team and his fellow residents, plus his own space when he chooses.
“I felt as if I needed someone to talk to regularly, and there’s lots of people here! I’ve always been a people’s person, so this has worked really well for me.”
And for George, the home-cooked meals are a real highlight, including his cooked breakfasts.
“I get three excellent meals a day, including two roast dinners a week, plus tea and cake in the afternoons – I’m never short of food.”
