Double celebration with awards shortlisting!

Care home awards finalist 2025 logo

It’s a day for double celebrations at Sanctuary Care as we’ve been shortlisted for not one, but two Care Home Awards 2025.

In association with Care Home Management, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve been named finalists for the Outstanding Larger Group Care Provider Award, and the Best for Training and Development Award.

Sarah Clarke-Kuehn, Sanctuary Care’s Chief Operating Officer, shared her excitement: “We’ve had an exceptional year with some remarkable achievements, so to receive national, external recognition like this is very special.

“We are so deeply proud to be a not-for-profit organisation, at the heart of which is our passion to enrich the lives of our residents and their loved ones, and the amazing team we have caring for them.”

Outstanding Larger Group Care Provider Award

Highlights of our nomination include:

-Sector leading quality scores, reflecting our commitment to excellence in care.

-Our pioneering Enriching Lives framework, developed after surveying over 1,300 people to understand what matters most in later life. This guides how we work with our residents as individuals, tailoring our support to meet the Six Senses that help them to feel truly fulfilled and happy – Security, Belonging, Continuity, Purpose, Achievement and Significance.

-Our War on Waste initiative, which has significantly reduced food waste and contributed to environmental sustainability.

-The Grow Your Own Way initiative, where our residents are supported to grow their own produce, harvesting it for their chefs to use in the kitchens.

Best for Training and Development Award

Highlights of our nomination include:

  • Our Strong Gold IiP accreditation, reflecting our commitment to staff development and well-being.
  • Bespoke training programmes, designed specifically for each home, combining expert-led courses and resources that empower staff through peer-led learning.
  • A strong focus on well-being, diversity, and mental health support, with initiatives like neurodiversity awareness training and mental health first aid.
  • A buddy mentorship programme for new staff and a clinical skills programme to enhance the skills of team leaders and care colleagues.
