What facilities can our residential care home in Coventry offer?
Lammas House is less than a 10-minute drive from the city centre, situated on Moseley Avenue (B4107), so we’re easy to reach.
It genuinely feels like home. It’s smaller than most residential care homes in Coventry, however, this means our residents and our team are like an extended family.
There’s no shortage of fantastic facilities available to help them enjoy their senior years in total comfort, including:
- 23 single bedrooms with ensuite bathroom facilities – we encourage residents to make the space their own with reminders of home.
- cosy lounges where residents can relax and bond with each other, make plans for the day, and catch up with loved ones.
- a hair salon – because we always like to look our best!
- a central dining room where we gather to enjoy delicious meals prepared by our exceptional catering team. We also welcome the loved ones of our residents for private dining experiences. For a small donation to our residents’ fund, we can prepare three-course dinners or special buffets.
- wheelchair-accessible gardens, so everyone can enjoy the fresh air, and a heated outdoor pod – the perfect spot for meeting up with visiting family and friends.
Fabulous food at our Coventry care home
Outstanding home cooking makes mealtimes at Lammas House a real highlight. Our head chef, Matt creates a dining experience all of our residents can enjoy. He says:
“Good food is important to our residents as it makes them feel special, loved and cared for when they can appreciate the effort made.”
At breakfast, our residents can enjoy anything from toast to cooked breakfast items, served however they choose. Traditional roast dinners with all the trimming are always a firm favourite for dinner, as are Matt’s cakes.
He recently cooked 30 different regional sweet recipes, ranging from Ecclefechan butter tart to sultana bread – the latter being a favourite of the Women’s Institute (WI).
The recipes were a real step back in time, enabling our residents living with age-related memory loss to relive happy foodmemories. Our person-led approach to care means we can adapt meals to meet individual needs.
Our person-centric approach to care
Here, at Sanctuary, we tailor our care plans to meet the individual needs of our residents. Our team continually assesses and adapts the support they deliver during our residents’ time with us.
As a not-for-profit care provider, we ensure that any surplus income goes back into what matters most to us – our residents, homes and staff. We make sure our passionate team has all the skills needed to provide the best care.
Our staff are enormously proud that we’re the Coventry care home with an ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating. Extracts from our glowing report include:
“The staff are so caring, and all so good. It doesn’t matter what you say; you are always right.” A relative told us “I wake up every morning knowing (their loved one) is safe.”
The report also praised our professional staff as being “passionate about people receiving the best care in a loving and caring environment.”
Short-term respite care in Coventry
As well as providing 24-hour residential care, we also offer short respite care breaks. Respite care can provide carers with a well-needed break, or some additional support with their current care arrangements.
You can pre-book respite care in advance for you or your loved one. They’re ideal for carers taking holidays, or even for recovery or convalescence after a spell in hospital.
These short beaks not only give caregivers a rest – they also allow people receiving care to enjoy the companionship of like-minded residents and our wonderful staff.
