The Meadows Care Home in Inverness - Dornoch
Our care home is in a stunning location located in Inverness, with views over the cathedral in Dornoch and nearby allotments. The care service also boasts a beautiful secure landscaped garden, a summer house, hairdressing salon and has two activities specialists.
What type of care services are available at our Inverness care home?
The Meadows’ dedicated and highly experienced staff work tirelessly to promote the health, comfort, and happiness of our residents.
We deliver more than just personal care to older people; we provide person-centred care plans. We offer round the clock residential care in Inverness, as well as dementia care and nursing care and palliative care. We also provide respite care to support carers within the county of Sutherland.
What is the residential setting like?
We are close to Dornoch town centre, making it convenient for family and our dedicated care team. Our nursing home in Inverness is also opposite a community orchard, where our residents regularly enjoy picnics and walks.
Elsewhere, our nursing care home gardens have a nautical theme, with boats filled with plants and a wheelchair accessible summer house. Beach huts and murals are painted across the fencing and there are raised planters for our residents who love gardening. Our beautiful beachside theme is a popular space, especially for those living with dementia.
What is the Inverness nursing home like inside?
Our home offers 40 bedrooms with bathrooms (sinks and toilets) to all our residents. As well as two lounges, there is a ‘quiet’ room, where a family member can also stay overnight. Our dining room is bright and airy, overlooking the gardens.
As well as the traditional care services you might expect we have a hairdressing salon which is always bustling. A highly experienced mobile hairdresser visits us several days a week.
What activities can my loved one take part in?
Often, people mistake residential care homes to be boring, but this couldn't be further from the truth at The Meadows.
We are passionate that residents live their lives their way. We have two specialists who plan and organise an inspiring activity program in our care home every week. Not only do we ensure our programme is varied in choice, but also ensure that it's person-centred too.
We base our activities on the residents we have living with us - their interests, pastimes, and life history. We also ask residents and their loved ones for feedback to ensure that our activities continue to create a lively lifestyle.
Our local Dornoch community
We are also proud of our care home's strong connections to the local communities in Dornoch and Sutherland. Connections come in all shapes and sizes - from local children visiting to getting out there ourselves!
We have so many wonderful examples. Residents especially love it when local school children come to visit and put on a special show just for us. Local schools also link up with us for work experience placements, where youngsters volunteer to befriend our residents.
Our residents also love trips outside our Inverness care home. From community dementia hubs to local churches and Dornoch Cathedral, we find any excuse to enjoy a day trip.
Pricing Information
It is usual for residents in care homes to contribute to the cost of their own care. Some people have the resources to pay for their accommodation in full, whilst others make means-tested contributions.
Our 2024 weekly room fee starts from £1,664 but may be up to 30% more. This depends on the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms to our premium bedroom options.
Visit our Paying for Care page for information on how to pay for care at The Meadows Care Home.
